Lock Up
Summary: Crime drama series airing from 1959-1961, starring MacDonald Carey as real-life attorney Herbert Maris, in tales based on Maris’ files and case histories.

Bloch: “My friend and colleague Samuel A. Peeples wanted to know if I’d like to come out to Hollywood and write a script for “Lock-Up.” Lock-Up, starring an actor named Macdonald Carey, was a half-hour television series about a crime-solving attorney who charged no fees. This, of course, made it a fantasy, but most people didn’t seem to be aware of the fact.”

Episodes (all of the following are original teleplays by Bloch):
  • Murder is a Gamble (Season 1, episode 27; airdate: Mar 26, 1960)
  • Death and Taxes (Season 1, episode 28; airdate: Apr 2, 1960)
  • Voice of Doom (Season 1, episode 38; airdate: Jun 11, 1960)
  • The Beau and Arrow Case (Season 2, episode 5; airdate Oct 22, 1960)
  • Abandoned Mine (Season 2, episode 20; airdate Feb 4, 1961)
