Bloch: “Before it [The Opener of the Way] appeared, late in 1945, I already had a book of sorts, a dreadful, slim paperback collection put out in England. “Sea-Kissed,” a retitling of the story I’d done with Henry Kuttner, was reprinted along with three other stories. It featured what was for those times a daring nude photo on the cover hinting at porno goodies which rooked readers but were not to be found inside.”
