Strait-Jacket (1964)
Summary: After a twenty-year stay at an asylum for a double murder, a mother returns to her estranged daughter where suspicions arise about her behavior.

Bloch: “What hooked me was the notion of an ax murderess—a sort of latter-day Lizzie Borden—who had been incarcerated in an asylum after her crime, then released as sane many years later, only to be accused of new and similar slayings. Of course, the real culprit donned the fat-suit to throw unjust suspicion on the now-reformed lady. But humanizing a former victim of mental illness seemed interesting and I worked up a script to direct audience sympathy to a somewhat unusual heroine.”
